I am beyond speechless. Yesterday, you truly “walked the walk” with your support of military spouses and their search for fulfilling employment. You showed you were willing to support something meaningful and real. Wearing my hand-crafted brooch was the icing on the cake.
While I have many civilian friends who would like to be supportive of my small Etsy business, they have no connection to military insignia.
So, inspired by your speech here’s what we’re going to do: First, we’ll be putting new emphasis on our patriotic designs that are more applicable to civilians.
Second, and more importantly, I’m initiating a movement: #ShopMilitary, where my military spouse, veteran, and gold star business peers can share their work and gain visibility with civilians. We may even start to close the “Civilian/Military Gap” by showing people how they can best support the entrepreneurial efforts of military spouses and veterans.
