WWII-era Vintage Civilian Award Pin | Excellence VB145

This vintage WWII US civilian award pin bears an E for excellence, ARMY NAVY PRODUCTION AWARD hallmark, and measures 1 x 1/2 inch.  The piece is authentic, as it was purchased through the Ohio Valley Military Society.

This piece has been restored as close as possible to its original condition, cleaned gently by hand with steam, polishing cloths, and good old-fashioned elbow grease.

This vintage item is approximately 70 years old and has been loved and cherished by a previous owner, there will be some slight wear or imperfections. If there is any noticeable wear or defect, it will be mentioned here. 

The Army-Navy "E" Award was an honor presented to companies during World War II whose production facilities achieved "Excellence in Production" ("E") of war equipment. The award was also known as the Army-Navy Production Award. The award was created to encourage industrial mobilization and production of war time materials. By war's end, the award had been earned by only 5% of the more than 85,000 companies involved in producing materials for the U.S. military's war effort.
